Savannahs are a wonderfully exotic looking hybrid cat breed founded on crossing the exotic African Serval with a domestic cat. Cahaba Cats is an in-home cattery with the primary goal of producing healthy, well socialized Savannah cats and kittens in accordance to the Savannah Breed Standard.

The Savannahs produced at Cahaba Cats are for the show ring, discriminating pet owner and fellow breeder. We only use fertile Savannah males to bring in "type" and advance the development of the breed.

We love early generation filial or foundation Savannahs, but are also focused on producing well spotted cats and kittens of later generations which capture the exotics look of the Serval in a domestic breed. Savannahs, especially early generations, tend to be expensive due to the challenges of breeding and infertility of males for the first 5 generations.

What does "Cahaba" mean and how do you pronounce it? Cahaba is pronounced phonetically (caHAba), and is namesake to a river in Alabama from which my family orginated and many still reside. The Cahaba River served as a primary source of water and transportation to Native Americans and early European settlers. The river is still enjoyed for recreational purposes with conservation efforts in place to preserve it's beauty for years to come.

Cahaba Cats is a TICA registered cattery, active member within the Savannah Breed Section and the Savannah Cat Club. We love "talking cats" so give us a call if you have questions or are interested in having a Savannah of your own!
